I’m Nettie Handsaker, founder and owner of Vast Nutrition LLC. I grew up in Algona, Iowa and earned my undergraduate degree in Dietetics and master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at Iowa State University. Becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) was a desire of mine from a young age and I’m glad I did it because I thoroughly enjoy my profession.

During my last year of undergraduate school, I met my best friend and husband, Logan. We have been blessed with 5 children: Lydia, Seth, Ruby, Zeb, and Caius. We enjoy watching them all explore life, finding their interests, and of course playing sports and riding horses.

After becoming a RDN I continued to research at Iowa State University. Then an opportunity to work in long term care became available. For over a decade I’ve enjoyed optimizing the older population’s nutrition and quality of life. A challenging but rewarding work.

I have also pursued additional training in sports nutrition and nutrition focused physical exams which was driven to help youth athletes fuel and train well to meet their performance goals while developing and growing well and preventing injury. My hope is to use my expertise for all stages of life, making our community healthier.
