I’m Nettie Handsaker, registered dietitian nutritionist with a Master’s in Nutritional Sciences, marathon finisher and life-long runner, nutrition junky and creature of habit.
As a middle school girl, I was determined to become a dietitian for many reasons. After completing training and successfully finishing many races including a marathon, I realized adequately fueling your body as an endurance athlete is not an easy task! I made a lot of nutrition mistakes along the way, having my own experience with REDs. That’s when I felt a calling to help other athletes reach their goals and dreams by properly fueling their bodies to maximize their performance and health. Hence my additional years at ISU receiving a Master’s in Nutritional Sciences and more recently advanced study in Sports Nutrition followed by creating Vast Nutrition LLC.
Over a decade of experience as a dietitian, I’m excited to offer sport nutrition services to youth athletes. All athletes without a nutrition plan are doing a disservice to their bodies and their training plans. I’m excited to come alongside middle school and high school athletes, their parents and coaches to create fueling plans just as solid as their training plans and an environment where the hidden power of nutrition is known.
